- Theme ID and the specific sections/blocks you create or modify using the App
- App-specific configuration data (e.g., section settings, custom CSS/HTML, layout preferences, enabled features)
- Subscription and installation status (installed, active, uninstalled)
We do not collect your full Shopify account password or payment card details. If the App includes paid features, payment processing is handled securely through Shopify’s billing API.
B. Information from Store Visitors (End Users)
The App may inject CSS, JavaScript, or HTML snippets into your storefront to render the custom sections you create. By default, the App does not collect any personal data from your store visitors. However:
- If a section uses a form (e.g., newsletter signup, contact form), the data submitted by visitors is stored in your Shopify admin—not by our App.
- We may collect anonymous technical data (e.g., page load time, render errors) to ensure the sections work correctly across different devices and browsers. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.
- No cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics scripts are injected by the App itself unless you, the merchant, explicitly enable such features within the App settings (e.g., built-in analytics for section performance). In that case, we act as a data processor on your behalf, and you must inform your own store visitors accordingly.
C. Information You Provide Directly
When you contact us for support, leave feedback, or participate in surveys, we may collect your name, email address, store name, and any other information you voluntarily share.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Section Kit App (e.g., save your section layouts, apply them to your theme, and ensure they display correctly).
- Communicate with you about service updates, security notifications, billing, and support requests.
- Improve the App by analyzing aggregated usage patterns and performance data.

We retain merchant data (store details, section configurations) for as long as your store has the App installed, plus a reasonable period (e.g., 30 days) after uninstallation in case you reinstall. 5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The App itself does not use cookies on your storefront for tracking visitors. The JavaScript or CSS injected by the App to display sections may use localStorage or sessionStorage sparingly—for example, to remember a visitor’s UI state (collapsed/expanded sections). This storage contains no personal data.
If you, the merchant, enable additional tracking or analytics features within the App, the relevant third-party cookie policies will apply, and you are responsible for updating your own store’s privacy policy accordingly.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, regular vulnerability assessments) to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
